Abstract:
Microwave switches are indispensable components of communication satellites, serving as fundamental units of the payload. Their primary function is to make backups for devices with high failure rates or to switch the microwave channel as a route. Aerospace companies, both domestically and internationally, have conducted extensive research on microwave switches. The design of these switches encompasses a range of disciplines, including high-frequency electromagnetism, low-frequency electromagnetism, mechanics, and thermal conducting. The manufacture of microwave switches involves high-precision mechanical processing, heat treatment, surface treatment, and precision assembling techniques. As multi-disciplinary and interdisciplinary space high-precision electronic products, microwave switches have been the subject of research by many aerospace companies worldwide. This paper is devoted to providing an overview of the state-of-the-art of switches for space, including typical products, technology, and performance. Furthermore, it analyzes the key technologies of microwave switches and discusses their development trends.
