Abstract:
Based on the urgent demand for extremely large aperture antennas in China’s space missions, this paper reviews the current development status of on-orbit assembly and manufacturing technologies for such spatial structures. Focusing on key aspects including overall mission demonstration of on-orbit assembly, docking mechanism technology, dynamics of assembly process, and space manufacturing technology, a systematic analysis was conducted to identify the main challenges in space structure assembly and manufacturing. Future development perspectives were proposed, encompassing core technologies such as: system optimization for large-scale antenna assembly, multidimensional high-precision task planning for modular antennas, lightweight configuration and functional design of assembly modules, sensing and control technologies for assembly modules, novel space docking mechanisms, space manufacturing technologies, and comprehensive verification techniques for multi-module assembly. This research provides theoretical foundations and technical references for the development of on-orbit assembly technologies for extremely large aperture antennas in China.
