Abstract:
Satellite navigation systems, due to their high precision, global coverage and economic efficiency, are widely applied in various fields of national defense and the national economy, and have deeply integrated into the production and daily life of the public. The continuously evolving satellite navigation technology serves as an important support for the construction, operation and service of the system. Doppler navigation, three-sphere intersection measurement, active and passive positioning systems, high precision atomic clocks, and high-precision signal generation and transmission, these different technical systems and means have played crucial roles in different historical periods. Together, they have propelled the development of satellite navigation systems towards greater ubiquity, greater integration, and greater intelligence, striving to meet people’s higher–level living and working needs. Through the construction and operation of BDS1, BDS2, and BDS3, various satellite navigation technologies of China’s BDS have been developed and applied, and it has gradually become a world-class satellite navigation system. In the new era, with the development of space technology, high-performance integrated circuits, satellite internet technology, and artificial intelligence, and also in response to new demands and applications, the next-generation BDS will enhance its performance in all aspects and continue to serve and promote the development of China’s strategies and industries in land, sea, air, space and ground. Based on a review and investigation of the development of satellite navigation technologies abroad, this article focuses on sorting out and analyzing the development of the BDS and China’s satellite navigation technologies.
