    Design of a miniaturized dual-frequency antenna for satellite communication

    • In this paper, a miniaturized dual-band antenna for satellite communication is proposed. In order to realize the miniaturization of the antenna and dual-band operation, the topping and rectangular cutting operations are carried out on the circular monopole antenna; In order to effectively disturb the current path and further reduce the size of the antenna and expand the antenna bandwidth, the torus groove and symmetrical C-slot are etched on the upper and lower surfaces of the antenna to improve the impedance matching of the antenna. The antenna final size is 16mm×18.5mm×1.6mm. The electromagnetic simulation software is used to simulate the performance of the antenna, and the results inctcate that the antenna can work in 4.76GHz~9.25GHz and 10.46GHz~14.2GHz, which the maximum gain is 5.9dBi and the average gain is 4dBi with the circular polarization and good radiation characters.
